W E L C O M E !
Yes, we're another drabble community!
You might be thinking there are plenty of these around, but we think the more drabble communities the merrier!!! (In fact, if you maintain a drabble or fanfic community here at LJ and would like to be an affiliate, please comment here. We'd love to add you to our affiliate list!)
(You can suggest a challenge topic here.)
Q: First off, precisely what is a drabble?
A: Read the ANSWER. Yes, we do allow members to share double-drabbles and ficlets -- as long as they stick to the main restriction, which is that they must be exactly 100, (200, 300, 400) or 500 words long. (By increments of 100, with not one word less or more.)
Q: What are the community goals?
A: This community was created for the Writing, Sharing and Feedbacking of fandom-related drabbles.
Plus this is a drabble community where the writer and (non-writing) reader can both participate!
Members can take part in discussions of drabble writing topics -- along with tackling drabble challenges and offering feedback.
Q: What do you mean by 'fandom-related' drabbles?
A: Read the ANSWER.
Q: Who can join?
A: Anyone who can reply 'yes' to one of the following:
I like to write.
I like the challenge of drabble writing.
I like sharing my drabbles with others.
I like reading drabbles.
I like feedbacking drabbles.
I'd like to try a new form of writing.
I'd like to make some new friends.
I like to have fun while writing.
If you said 'yes' to even one of those statements, this is definately a community for you!
I M P O R T A N T !Q: What are the rules?
A: Read the ANSWER. You'll need to know the rules to participate here. This is where we spell it all out so you'll understand and feel comfortable when you post.
Q: Can you give me an overview of the rules?
A: If you're planning to post here, you'll still need to check out this important entry. But here are the rules in a nutshell!
Any and all fandoms are welcome -- again, the more the merrier! (It's a great way for members to be introduced to a new fandom or an old favorite -- and to share their current favorite fandoms!)
All types of drabbles are welcome -- slash, femslash, het, gen and combos of these. (The above-mentioned 'rules' entry explains how we WARN readers about the content.)
We'll be sharing regular 'challenges' to help keep your 'plot bunnies' hopping! (But from time to time we'll also have OPEN posting -- allowing you to post drabbles of your own choosing.)
Q: I don't know how to post to a community! Can you explain it to me?
A: LiveJournal has kindly done that for us! Go and read this. (Be sure to click on 'Read More' to get a detailed explanation.)
(Still confused? Go here and comment.)
Q: Do you require the use of the lj-cut tag?
A: Yes, we do. You can read all about how to use the (wonderful) lj-cut tag here.
Here's the basic code:
[highlight, copy and paste the code]
Q: Do you monitor behavior -- make sure comments aren't nasty/flaming?
A: All members are asked to 'play nice.' This is a friendly community created to be a fun place for everyone. (Flaming is a BANNING offense.)
N O T E : If someone behaves offensively, PLEASE don't take matters into your own hands. Refrain from responding and CONTACT a maintainer for assistance.
Q: How can I improve as a drabble writer?
A: Please read this entry -- and feel free to comment. We're interested in what you have to say!
O T H E R N O T E S
Every so often a maintainer will pose a drabble-related TOPIC that's open to discussion, where all members can comment! (By the way, your ideas for future topics are always welcome!)
We encourage you to introduce yourself in Newbie Here! entry. It gives members a chance to say 'hello' to those who join.
Remember, even if you don't write fanfic/drabbles you're still welcome to join. Please feel free to read what's shared here. Then we encourage you to offer feedback -- anything from one word to several hundred! (And unlike the drabbles, your feedback isn't limited by a certain number of words! )

That's it, though we reserve the right to update this page regularly. (We'll post and notify if there's something NEW for members to read over.)
